Climate CrisisEach year of delay beyond 2020 brings the need to act faster...Recent UN reports state that global temperatures are on track to rise by
as much as 7ºF by 2100. Each year of delay beyond 2020 brings a need to act faster. Our collective failure to act early on climate change means we must now deliver deep cuts to emissions. The construction industry has a huge responsibility in the collective fight against climate change. |

ConstructionIndustryBuildings are currently responsible for 40% of global CO2 emisions anuallyOver two thirds of these emissions
relate to the energy used to heat and cool buildings (27%). The other third (13%) relates to the embodied carbon associated with extraction, manufacturing, transporting, installing, maintaining and disposing of construction materials and products. |

We can't go onlike this!Construction must be delivered in a more forward-thinking wayGovernments, policy-makers and architects
have been hesitant to adopt sustainable principles that will forge a brighter future for generations to come. A 2050 target for carbon neutral homes means that we’ll be building homes which damage the environment and leave people at risk of fuel poverty for decades to come, and that simply can’t be the case. We can, and must act now! |
