Hello and welcome to the May 2021 edition of RECAP! We hope you're all keeping well. This month we feature Richard John Seymour's BAFTA nominated short film 'Consumed' which beautifully frames laborious processes and complex global supply chains behind everyday products. We see how the City of York Council aims to deliver 600 Passivhaus certified homes across eight sites, with their pledge to meet net-zero carbon targets by 2030. We look at Kiln Place, Peter Barber Architects' latest housing scheme in Camden, which respectfully adds new interventions to the existing estate and shows us that community participation can be an effective tool to empower residents and improve their environment. We also take a look at Finding Infinity's ambitious strategy to turn Melbourne into a self sufficient zero-carbon city by 2030. We hope you enjoy it!
RECAP is our monthly newsletter which showcases a selection of architecture and design projects from across Europe and beyond, with a focus on sustainability, innovation and socially responsible design principles that show a greater respect for human scale, biodiversity and the environment.
