After a short break due to the birth of Leo- the latest addition to the Inhabit Lab family- we are back! Our special features this month show the striking juxtaposition of Hong Kong's hyper-dense housing seen through Kris Provoost’s powerful photo essay, with Danish practice Henning Larson’s all timber sustainable community. We look at Water Segal’s self-build vision for Lewisham Council in 1980s, which was built on the fundamental principles of flexibility and adaptability to reflect each one of the 13 family’s needs- principles that are starting to make a comeback in UK and further afield today.
We also take a look at one of the largest Passive House Affordable housing schemes in the world and take a sneak preview of Renzo Martens documentary, which features OMA’s White Cube gallery in Lusanga (DRC) and tells the story of how the Congolese, through a new economic model, buy back the plantations once owned by international corporations before transforming them into sites for ecological farming...and much much more. We hope you enjoy it!
