A full retrofit of an existing a commercial unit and an upper floor to create an elegant duplex apartment in Poble Nou, Barcelona.

A single circulation and storage element runs the whole length of the building and organises the ground floor layout and the main living spaces. It integrates a new staircase, a lineal kitchen and additional storage and allows the ground floor space to connect at either end with the front entrance courtyard and more secluded rear courtyard. The upper floor houses the main en-suite bedroom with walk-in wardrobe, two other bedrooms and a family bathroom.
