BACKGROUND
Daniel Burston (UK, 1983) graduated from Escola Técnica Superior d’Arquitectura de Barcelona (ETSAB) in 2014. Prior to completing his Architectural studies in Barcelona he studied Fine Arts at Hereford College of Art and Interior Architecture at Cardiff Metropolitan University, where he gained a First Class honors degree. In 2014 he was awarded a distinction for his final thesis project at ETSAB which centered around Belchite, an abandoned town once at the heart of a major battle during the Spanish Civil War. In 2015 he shared the Special Mention Prize at the International urbanism competition, Europan 13. He has worked for several internationally renowned architecture, urban design and interior design practices on projects within Europe, North America and Asia. His work has been published in ‘Barcelona Links’ from the Laboratori d’Urbanisme de Barcelona (LUB) and has had work exhibited in London, Brussels and Barcelona. He sees research and continued learning as an essential part of his development and has gained other qualifications, most recently as a Passivhaus Designer, to further his knowledge and expertise in the field of sustainability and carbon neutrality. In 2020 he founded INHABIT LAB, which focuses on Sustainable design and Passivhaus architecture in the residential sector, collaborating on projects within Spain, the United Kingdom and further afield. He is fiercely passionate about the human response to the climate crisis and a greener future for the construction sector. |
