A full refurbishment of a historic apartment in the heart of Sants in Barcelona. Many of the original features of the apartment had either been removed or concealed by the previous owners. The brief was to retain the character of the original apartment whilst adapting the layout to align with the needs of the new owners and their family.  The new layout is driven by an in-built storage element which acts as the spine to the whole apartment and organises the bedrooms, family bathroom and home office. The spine provides greater clarity to the layout, which together with the restored high vaulted ceilings, open plan kitchen-living- dining area and flexible openings, results in a very spacious and functional home.
