A full refurbishment of an existing tenth floor apartment on the emblematic Marina Street. The brief was to upgrade the thermal performance of the apartment, which previously suffered from over heating in summer and heat loss in winter. This was achieved by adding thermal insulation, high performance glazing, solar shading, improving airtightness as well as installing an energy efficient Aerothermal heat pump to provide cooling in summer, heating in winter and hot water. It was also important to find a purer layout which would remove wasted circulation spaces and open the apartment up to the stunning views of the city all around.
