Concept design for a single family house to be certified 'Passivhaus' on the outskirts of Barcelona. Passive solar design criteria have been used to adapt the building to it's specific climatic environment and reduce overall energy demands by utilising solar gains to warm the house in colder months and using shading devices to keep it cool in summer months. The building will be up to 70-90% more efficient than a conventional house with a high level of indoor air quality and thermal confort.
